📋 Instructions – How to use this benchmark template
This template helps you compare different options in a clear and structured way.
It’s fully customizable, so you can adapt it to whatever you're benchmarking: houses, jobs, vacations, products, projects, etc.
🛠️ Step 1: Fill in your options
- Add each option (house, job, destination, etc.) as a new line in the database.
- Fill out the criteria scores based on your evaluation (for example: Price, Safety, Layout, Budget, Advantages, etc.).
- Optionally, add Pros, Cons, Links, or Notes to give more context.
âž• Bonus points / âž– Malus points
- Use Bonus Points to reward an option for exceptional features (e.g. “amazing view,” “extra benefits,” “perfect location”).
- Use Malus Points to penalize an option for significant flaws (e.g. “bad transport access,” “very expensive fees,” “safety concerns”).
📊 Building a good overall score
The Overall Score helps you quickly spot the best options — it’s automatically calculated using a weighted average formula.
In the default setup:
- Criteria 1 is the top priority (weight 1.5Ă—)
- Criteria 2 is slightly more important (1.25Ă—)
- Criteria 3 is neutral
- Bonus and Malus points are also neutral
